What A Stud!

I am very pleased to inform you that, indeed, the weather man was correct! For the past two days we have been experiencing upper 60's in the mornings and upper 70's to lower 80's in the afternoon with a slight breeze. It is heaven! And to make things even better, I have seemed to have fought off my cold! I'm still recovering but i feel much better and am no longer running fever! I think this glorious weather has something to do with it, it has put me in such a light and airy mood. And this afternoon as i was driving around with my windows rolled down, my sweater snugly buttoned, i decided that this is Taylor Swift weather. Meaning, roll down the windows and crank up the Taylor Swift, and that is exactly what I did! lol
So as my Fall weather is approaching, I have been thinking about my Fall Essentials List. The most recent of these being: the perfect studded belt!
Alright, so hearing studded clothing and accessories in a conversation two or three years ago probably would have made me cringe and think of pink hair, black lipstick, and a black school girl skirt matched with these boots.
NOT so fashion forward if you ask me!

But for me, my transformation in thinking of studs was thanks to a fashion diva named miss Carrie Bradshaw!

When this leading lady paired her studded belt with her green floral dress in the one of the opening scenes in Sex And The City The Movie it was just an introduction to all the other times we would see her in similar ensembles. I fell in love with the edgy look it brought to the normally girly outfit.

It seems to me that the 'stud look' has just been evolving on both the runway and streets ever since. Here are some more awesome studded looks that i am diggin' right now!

Well excuse me for saying so but do these black Steve Maddens selling for $275.95 not look exactly like these purple booties from Charlotte Russe selling for only $29.99?! Just sayin!

So, whats holding you back!? Theres nothing not to love about this look because even the girliest of girly girls can put an edge to an outfit, and the hard core chick can have a few extra studs to sharpen her look!
So what is your verdict? Love it or hate it? Do you have the perfect Carrie Bradshaw belt? Where did you get it from? I'm just dying to know!

A splash of color

Well, right now i am in bed feeling terrible and coming down with what seems to be the cold. And on top of that, its Monday! I went to school this morning and was only able to make it through three periods before i gave in and checked out. Isn't that just lovely?
What is it about Mondays? I really do dread them! It makes getting through school all the more painful knowing that it is only day one of five. Plus, once I finally do get to the weekend, i never seem to have enough time to accomplish all the things i set out to do. Ahh, to be young and in school...
On a lighter note, i was very pleased to see that at least a few people read my post and I even got some positive feedback! So, thanks so much for reading, it is really an encourager and i hope you continue to do so!
Also, there seems to be a cold front in my future according to the weatherman, which you can never hold accountable, but i am taking this information and running with it! He said it should be here mid week and we will be reaching temperatures in the mid 60's in the morning and upper 70's in the afternoon. This may seem warm to you, but believe me, 70 degrees is way better than 90!

So, this is what i wore yesterday to church and lunch. When i got home, i was feeling inspired so i decided to go take some fun pictures!

Cardi- Wal-Mart ($8)Pencil

Skirt- Target from Goodwill ($3.99!)

Belt- who knows?!

Shoes- Ross ($10.99)

Necklace- Charlotte ($8)

(the top is just a black leotard)
So i got these fabulous mustard colored shoes the other day at Ross for only $10.99! Lately Ive been trying to broaden my shoe collection because as of right now most of it contains flip flops, flats, black heels, and white strappy wedges. I don't know why, but whenever i go shoe shopping I'm automatically attracted to the neutral colored heels (mostly black)! I think its just because i know that i can pair it with so many other things, but I really want to branch out and start getting various different colors. Something Ive learned by reading these blogs is that not every thing has to match! I thought this outfit represents me branching out from matchy matchy outfits, although i would have preferred some yellow jewelry to bring it all together a little better, it thought it came together nicely.

Last night my friend Brittany and I decided to go to the outside mall on the beach to shop and watch a movie. Thanks to our awesome planning, we were only allotted an hour to shop, as the stores close at six on Sundays. After, we went to the beach to take a few pictures and from there to watch 'Love Happens' which, in my opinion, was NOT worth my $9.50!

Here's Brittany posing in front of a gorgeous Florida sunset last night. I think its funny that in Florida were still dressing in tank tops, skirts, and flip flops while in other states they are all bundled up in snow gear! Brittany is wearing an American Eagle Outfitters top that is currently on sale for $9 and a denim skirt from Target that she stole from me!

So what is the weather like where your at right now? Are you loving it or hating it?

Newbie!

For two months or so i have been looking at a range of fabulous fashion blogs, all of which hold advice, fashion finds, deals, new looks, and the women's life stories, trials, pursuits, and defeats.
What i love about seeing all these blogs is that there is such an array of different types! Ive seen blogs with big city women, small town girls, southern bells, humidity divas, and Florida princesses. Ive seen curvy women, tall women, short women, amazingly hilarious women, women on a budget, and women who thrive on the labels!

Needless to say, i have been inspired. I have decided to create this blog not just to show you whats in my closet, but also to explore myself and to broaden my fashion horizens. :)

Before we get to my first fashion post, there are a few things i have to point out:

  • I live in Florida, meaning that 9 months out of the year it is atleast 80 degrees or higher outside, so even though it is nearly October, we are still reaching nearly 90 degrees outside (much to my disgust)! So keep in mind that most of my outfits are humidity friendly.
  • I am a 16 (almost 17) girl who works at Chik-fil-a for $8 an hour and has a monthly ensurance payment to pay. I think it goes with out me saying, but, i am definitely on a budget!
  • Following along with my young age, keep in mind that i am still trying to find 'my style'. Fads go in and out so quickly these days its hard to keep up with!

So keeping in mind those three points, on with my fashion post!

Ok, so disregard the messy room and overflowing trash can! I'm a busy girl ;)
T-shirt: Target $5

Pink Cardi: Gifted

Jeans/Capris: American Eagle $38

Shoes: Target (last summer) $14

Necklace: Wal-Mart $7

Everyone knows that the Bib Necklace is 'in' right now, well i found
my version for only $7 bucks at Wal- Mart! What a steal compared to the designer ones out there! Im absolutely in love with it!

I wore this outfit casually for Wednesday night church and dinner with some friends afterward. I was pleased with the overall look, but not so pleased with sweating after only five minutes of being in this Florida heat with a simple cardigan! Sheesh! when will we get some cool weather?!

I'm not sure who, or if any one will read this, but if you did, then thanks! Be sure to leave me any advice about blogging you may have, i would appreciate it!
